Help with Thumbnail AB Test

Find the current limits, fix common problems, and see what happens to saved reports or account data. The answers below match the product as it works today.

Start here

Pick the part that is getting in your way

These guides cover the full path from adding an image to deleting an account. Product limits are included where they affect what you can do next.

Run a comparison

Start with two concepts and add up to six. Each option needs one thumbnail and one title before the tool can run.

  • Use a static JPG, PNG, or WebP. Animated images are not supported.
  • Each image can be up to 16 MB and 20 megapixels.
  • One comparison can use up to 48 MB and 60 megapixels in total.

Saved history

A local save stays in this browser. The five most recent local reports appear in History, unless the browser clears site storage.

  • A signed-in beta account can sync reports you explicitly save.
  • Cloud history stores a downsized preview and report data, not the original image file.
  • Deleting a cloud report does not delete its copy from this browser, and the reverse is also true.

Account access

An account is optional. It adds beta report sync, an account-data export, password changes, and session controls.

  • Creator checkout requires an account with a verified email.
  • Use a unique password and keep access to your email.
  • The Dashboard can sign out another session or every other session without ending the current one.

Billing and cancellation

Creator costs $9 per month. Studio remains product research and cannot be purchased.

  • Saving plan interest does not create a subscription, reserve a price, or authorize a charge.
  • Use the Polar customer portal to manage payment details, invoices, or cancellation.
  • Permanent account deletion is separate. For a Polar-linked account, it cancels the subscription but does not automatically create a refund.

Privacy and data

Original images stay in your browser for scoring. The tool does not connect to your YouTube account, channel, or analytics.

  • Saving locally creates a smaller preview inside this browser.
  • Cloud sync happens only after you sign in and choose Save.
  • The Dashboard can export account data or permanently delete the account and its cloud data.

Troubleshooting

Common questions

Why was my image rejected?

Check that it is a static JPG, PNG, or WebP. A file is also rejected if it is animated, invalid, over 16 MB, over 20 megapixels, or would push the full comparison over 48 MB or 60 megapixels.

Why did my previous result disappear after an edit?

A score belongs to the exact images and titles that were analyzed. Any image, title, add, remove, reset, or sample change makes that result stale, so the tool hides its actions until you run it again.

Why does the score differ from my YouTube result?

Thumbnail AB Test does not observe viewers or predict CTR. It applies the same fixed checks to your current concepts. Use YouTube Studio after publication to test the final options with real audience behavior.

Why is a saved test missing on another device?

A local save belongs to the browser where you created it. Cross-device access requires a beta account, a successful sign-in, and an explicit save while cloud sync is available. A local-only record is not uploaded later by itself.

How do I verify my email or reset my password?

Use the link sent to your inbox. If you are already signed in, Dashboard can resend verification, change your email, or change your password after you enter the current password.

How do I cancel a paid plan or request a refund?

Open billing management from Dashboard to stop a future renewal in Polar. Every Creator charge also has a separate 14-day full-refund window. Email [email protected] from the address connected to your account and include the Polar order or invoice ID and charge date.

Still stuck?

Send enough detail to reproduce the problem

Email the page you were using, the exact message you saw, what you expected, and the steps that led there. Browser and operating-system names can help with a device-specific problem.

Do not send a password, session token, full payment-card number, or original thumbnail file. We will never ask for your password.
