The service

Thumbnail AB Test is a free, in-browser preflight tool for comparing thumbnail and title concepts before publication. You provide two to six pairs, and the tool returns scores across five visual dimensions and seven title angles, a relative ranking, and model share within that set.

You can use the core tool without an account. Optional beta accounts can sync saved report data across devices.

These terms describe the service as it currently exists.

The nature of the scores

The scores and model shares are relative heuristic outputs generated from the options you provide. The preference model runs 10,000 deterministic iterations to allocate relative share within that set. Those iterations are not people, impressions, clicks, or a research sample, and the output is not a measurement or forecast of your YouTube click-through rate.

The ranking compares the variants you uploaded against each other. Use your own judgement when deciding which thumbnail to publish.

Accounts and saved history

Creating an account is optional. You are responsible for keeping your login access secure and for activity that happens through your account.

Creator checkout requires a verified account email. Verification, password recovery, and email-change links are sent to the account email. Use a unique password and keep access to that inbox. While signed in, you can change the password from Dashboard by entering the current password; a successful change signs out your other sessions.

The Dashboard lets you review a coarse list of active sessions and sign out one or all other sessions. Browser and operating-system labels are browser-reported and may not identify the physical device precisely.

Saved test history includes the report data produced by the tool, such as downsized thumbnail previews, title text, preflight scores, top-candidate labels, relative model share, and result metadata.

Device-local history keeps the five most recent tests. Cloud reports do not expire automatically based on age and remain until you delete the report, all cloud tests, or the account.

Plans, pricing, and availability

The core tool, device-local history, and optional free-account cloud sync are available today. Creator is the paid plan at $9 per month. Studio is a research preview and cannot be purchased.

A signed-in beta account can record or remove interest in Creator, Studio, or both. This record is product feedback. It does not create a subscription, reserve a price, guarantee access or notification, or authorize a charge.

You may separately volunteer to receive invitations to Creator or Studio product research at the verified email on your beta account. That permission is voluntary, can be withdrawn on the Pricing page, and is not a subscription to product updates or marketing. We send at most one research invitation to an account in 30 days. It does not guarantee an invitation, compensation, another benefit, or access to a paid plan.

A research invitation may include a private response link. You can record interested or declined and change that answer until the link expires. Recording interest does not guarantee an interview, compensation, another benefit, or a product decision. Declining means we will not follow up for that invitation; future invitations still follow your research-contact setting on Pricing.

Creator checkout is available to signed-in accounts with a verified email. Every Creator charge has a 14-day full-refund window with no usage threshold or required reason. Studio has no promised feature set or launch date and cannot be purchased.

The Polar customer portal is the normal place to manage or cancel a subscription. Portal cancellation stops a future renewal at the end of the paid period and does not request a refund. An eligible refund returns one charge, immediately ends Creator access, and leaves the account and saved reports in place. Permanently deleting an account is different: after any open checkout clears, it immediately cancels the Polar subscription, revokes paid access, asks Polar to anonymize personal billing details, and then removes the app account. Account deletion does not create a refund. Polar may retain historical orders and subscription records. If billing cleanup cannot be checked or confirmed, the app account remains so the operation can be retried safely.

Your content

You keep all rights to the thumbnails and titles you use with the tool, and you are responsible for making sure you have the rights to upload them.

Core scoring happens locally in your browser. Account sync stores a report only after sign-in and an explicit save.

Acceptable use

Do not abuse or attempt to overload the service, and do not upload content you do not have the rights to.

You remain responsible for what you choose to test and save, including any titles, covers, or report data synced to your account.

Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

We do not promise that the tool will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that its heuristic output will match your real YouTube results.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Thumbnail AB Test and its operators are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the service or reliance on its scores, rankings, or model shares.

You use the tool at your own risk.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the last-updated date at the top of this page. Please check that date when you return to the service.
